Gday all,

I am in complete and absolute anger and sadness at this moment, you may wonder why... I am because of what happened in the Melbourne CBD yesterday morning just before 9:00am (Monday, June 18 2007).

Now you may find it weird that as a 17 year old, I am interest in news and current affairs that are happening within Australia and around the world, some say I am very mature for my age.

Anyways...

What happened was a woman was in need of help as she was being pulled out of a taxi by her hair by a 'Hells Angels' bikie and two men went to her aid, one a solicitor and one a backpacker. Unfortunately the bikie was armed with a loaded pistol and when the two men went to aid the lady, he shot them both. Tragicly, the solicitor lost his life for his heroic efforts and the backpacker is in a serious condition. The lady is also in a serious condition after being shot aswell. I just can't believe the shit that goes on in the world, it fucking disgusts me.

This event has dramatically changed my perspective on wether to help someone or not if they are in need of help. I would still try and help someone if they are in need, it is just an instinct.

I think that the poor fella who lost his life should be given a bravery award for his efforts, and same to the backpacker.
